During the month of March, DNP employees raised $871 to help ensure no child is forgotten on their special day. In Southwestern Pennsylvania, where DNP employees live and work, there are almost 3,000 school-aged children identified as homeless. Special milestones, like birthdays, for these kids are often overlooked due to the personal or financial circumstances of their family.

Beverly's Birthdays came to be after founder, Megs Yunn, met Beverly, a young girl who had never had her own party or even her own slice of birthday cake. Since becoming an official nonprofit in February 2012, the organization has created over 30,000 birthday experiences. They currently partner with more than 140 social service agencies and schools throughout the Pittsburgh area to spread birthday cheer for children and families in need.
