DNP Holiday Giving

02/01/23

DNP’s Giving Committee was hard at workGivingLogo in November and December collecting for our annual holiday giving drive. For the fourth year in a row, we joined together to make the holidays brighter for
people in need in our community.

The DNP team communicates directly with Westmoreland County’s Community Action Agency
and Westmoreland County Area Agency on Aging.
These organizations provide us with lists of adults and children to sponsor.

The Area Agency on Aging, appointed by Pennsylvania in 1967, supports the elderly and disabled in our community. They have many programs to aid in this effort, including a Seniors Farmers' Market Nutrition Program, caregiver assistance programs, and a shop where seniors sell their handcrafted products.

Since 1980, the Community Action Agency has been serving local individuals and families experiencing financial hardships. Their mission is "connecting individuals and resources to improve their quality of life and help to reduce poverty in the community."

To support the holiday drive, we requested donations from our vendors, held internal raffles to raise money, and collected items from our employees. Through the generosity of all involved, gifts were given to 10 elderly/disabled people and snacks and activity books were delivered to 10 local nursing homes. We also fulfilled the Christmas wish lists of 10 underprivileged children in Westmoreland County. Our entire team looks forward to continuing this tradition in 2023.
